| Floral Interpretations for Silk Ribbon | Helen Dafter | 2 |
|
This is a lovely little book. It
has a nice layout and shows some unusual flowers in silk ribbon. The instructions and projects use simple basic stitches making this a beginner book. I really liked the pattern compositions and the water color studies, but the watercolors are not show as finished projects. Most of the projects are uninspiring as is her website http://www.helendafter.com.au . What is nice about the book is that some of the flowers are really nice, nicer then other books. The roses are splendid along with the crab-apple blossoms, flannel flower, camellia, daffodil, gardenia and viola. However, nothing else stands out in this book and if I hadn't gotten it at half price, I would have sent it back. There are many splendid books on silk ribbon embroidery with better, clearer instructions and nicer projects. Your money is better spent else where. |
